Bequest Language
A planned gift is a lasting investment in Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest and the communities we serve across San Diego, Riverside, and Imperial counties. The following are examples of suggested wording that can be used to include Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest in a will or living trust.
UNRESTRICTED GIFT
A gift that can be used where the need is greatest
I give to Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest (tax ID# 95-6111785), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation, now or formerly located at 1075 Camino del Rio South, San Diego, CA 92108, the sum of $________, * for its general purposes.
GIFT FOR A SPECIFIC PURPOSE
A gift for a specific program
I give to Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest (tax ID# 95-6111785), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation, now or formerly located at 1075 Camino del Rio South, San Diego, CA 92108, the sum of $________, * to be used for [state purpose]. If the need for funds described above no longer exists, the CEO and/or the Board of Directors are authorized to use these funds in the best interest of Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest.
RESIDUARY BEQUEST
Leaves any remainder after all other bequests have been fulfilled
All the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate, both real and personal, I give to Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest (tax ID# 95-6111785), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation, now or formerly located at 1075 Camino del Rio South, San Diego, CA 92108, for its general purposes.
CONTINGENT BEQUEST
Takes effect only if a primary intention cannot be met
If [name of beneficiary] does not survive me, or shall die during the administration of my estate, then I give to Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest (tax ID# 95-6111785), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation, now or formerly located at 1075 Camino del Rio South, San Diego, CA 92108, [description of property] to be used for its benefit.
ENDOWMENT FUND
A gift that benefits the organization in perpetuity
I give to Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest (tax ID# 95-6111785), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation, now or formerly located at 1075 Camino del Rio South, San Diego, CA 92108, the sum of $________, * to be used as a permanent endowment, the income only from which shall be used for its general purpose (or describe the specific purpose, if desired).
* Rather than leaving a certain sum, you may include language that refers to a percentage of your estate or a description of the property you wish to give.
