Deferred Gift Annuity

If you're looking for a way to support Planned Parenthood while securing a future income stream, consider a deferred charitable gift annuity. With this option, you make a charitable gift now, but the payments are postponed to a future date. Since the payments are deferred, the payment rate is higher than that of an immediate gift annuity. When you set up the gift, we'll agree on the start date for your payments. Deferred charitable gift annuities with Planned Parenthood can be deferred for a minimum of one year and a maximum of five years.

A deferred charitable gift annuity with Planned Parenthood could be right for you if:

  • You want to supplement your cash flow later, for example, when you retire.
  • You want the security of fixed, dependable payments for life.
  • You want to save income taxes or capital gains taxes.
  • You would like income that may be partially tax-free.
  • You are considering a gift amount of $10,000 or more.

How a deferred charitable gift annuity works

  1. You make an irrevocable gift of cash, securities, or other property to Planned Parenthood.
  2. In exchange, we promise to pay fixed payments to you for life at a future date or time you select. The payment can be quite high depending on your age, and a portion of each payment may be tax-free.
  3. You may benefit from an immediate charitable income tax deduction for the gift portion of the annuity.
  4. When your gift annuity ends, the remaining principal passes to Planned Parenthood.
